40+ Women Who Turned a Career Shift
Into a Community Movement

How It Started

Root&Rise began in an unexpected moment of upheaval.

A group of friends came together to invest in a new community project, one that supported eating good food, supporting the arts, and centering rest. 

From there, a retreat-style summer camp in the French countryside for women and non-binary people to play, reconnect, create, and belong. In the off-season we allow for private rentals and host mission-aligned retreats, events, and more.

How the Vision Spread

What started as Erin sharing a vision with a few friends became a cross-country wave of support.

From New York to Maine to Sacramento to LA, early supporters came together to share stories, build community, and say yes to something new.

More than 40 women stepped forward to invest. Their trust and generosity transformed a vulnerable career moment into a collective uprising of joy and possibility. These women became our Founders Circle — the first co-owners of a space designed by and for community.

What They Built Together

Root&Rise isn’t built on infrastructure or buildings — it’s built on belief.

On the idea that women and queer people deserve places of rest, play, and creative expansion. On the understanding that community care is a powerful form of resistance. Our founders laid the spiritual and structural groundwork for everything Root&Rise will become: a place where you can arrive exactly as you are and feel the support of those who came before you.
